I had to take a different approach to selecting photographs for the 2021 US Route 89 calendar this year. I have not taken any new road trips so there are no new photographs. Instead, I went on a treasure hunt looking at photo shoots from trips made over the last ten years. As always seems to happen, images that I had overlooked before caught my eye. I initially picked twenty photos and then edited them to bring out all the colors and details that I had missed seeing the first time. I’ve narrowed that selection to the fourteen that are featured in the 2021 calendar.
I have created two versions of the calendar. I have had requests for a smaller size so you can now order the calendar in the usual 8.25″ x 10.75″ format or half size 5.25″ x 8.25 format”. All of the photos are the same in both but now you can pick the size that fits your needs the best. The price for the large format calendar is $12 plus shipping and for the small format $9 plus shipping.

In An Oracle Woods Calendar
Although I haven’t been on the road this year, I have been enjoying making photographs in the woods behind our home in Oracle, Arizona. I am fortunate to have a 15 acre oak woodland that I can wander through and explore the light as it illuminates the trees and plants bringing out surprising colors and amazing textures. I have gone back to my creative roots in medium format film photography and have composed these photos in the square format. This year has been an adventure for me in a more intimate scale.
